So what does it take to “get listed” on GASTONCOUNTY.INFO?:

It is really simple to get your business, organization, event, classified, or website address (with active link) listed on GastonCounty.info, but there are some guidelines and standards that we strongly suggest and advise before making your submission.

Some simple guidelines before you submit.

Also, please make sure also that you have good description of your site as it gives our visitors a better idea of what they are looking at and are more inclined to click your link.

Websites (web links):

Acceptable:

  • The website must have content, adsense only sites will not be approved.
  • Non-English sites are acceptable if they are in the World category in the proper category. (not enabled at this time)

Not Acceptable:

  • No site redirects or doorway pages.
  • No pages with pop-ups taking over my computer.
  • No Illegal, violent, or hate sites.
  • No Online Drug, Fake Diploma, Gambling, Tobacco or other questionable or Adult-Oriented (mature) sites.
  • No under construction sites. All Web Sites listed must be an active and working web site. Website must be completed prior to submission. (click here to learn about an alternate option available).
  • No sub-domains (must be approved by site administrator).
  • No multiple submissions for the same site with a different inner links.
  • Excessive CAPITALIZATION all or most of the words in the title or description.

In addition;

  • A website that has legitimacy to Greater Gaston County, North Carolina. [preferred]
  • A website that is made out of mainly categories or affiliate links on it will not be approved.
  • A website which main content comprises promotion of products that are finally sold through another party and not by yourself will not be approved.
  • Too many non-working links on your website can also be grounds for non-approval..
  • Complete Flash sites without an available HTML version will not be approved.
  • Websites with an automated Free-For-All links page will not be approved.
  • Your link exchange program (your Links Page) must be hosted/placed under your own domain.

Classifieds:

  • POLICY: Local classified advertising rates are available only to advertisers who own or operate their own businesses and are selling products or services directly to the general public in the Greater Gaston County Area (Gastonia, NC). Any classified representative can provide a list of cities and counties that are eligible. For recruitment advertisers, if the job is local, the local rate applies. For real estate, if the property, home, rental or development is local, it will also apply.
  • Art Charges: 50 per hour, 15-minute minimum. These charges will incur when an artist is required to hand-illustrate products, design logo art, hand-cut asking, or perform work determined to exceed services provided.
  • Adjustments: Although every effort is made to ensure advertisements run without error, some mistakes may occur. GastonCounty.info will not be liable or responsible for any damages as result of mistakes made. Advertisers need to thoroughly check for any errors. In the event an ad is cancelled, ask for a cancellation confirmation number. Adjustments or republishing will be made at GastonCounty.info’s discretion and will not exceed the space occupied by the error. No adjustments will be made for errors the advertiser fails to mark for correction on its proof. All requests for adjustments must be made within 30 days of the first scheduled publication.
  • Credits: All advertising must be paid in advance of reservation or the advertiser must have prior credits to account balance. Cash discounts are not available. In the event of a cancellation to an ad, no refunds will be given under any circumstances - NO EXCEPTIONS; however, only credits will be applied to future ad placements on GastonCounty.info

Event Listings:

Please submit event listings in the following format:

  • Date
  • Location (name of city or county)
  • Name of organization putting on the event
  • Title of the event
  • One-sentence description of event
  • Names and affiliations of key presenters
  • Time (hours)
  • Location (specific hotel, restaurant, office address, etc.)
  • Contact information for more information – telephone, e-mail, website, etc.

Our Decision:

Listings should be limited to 50 words. GASTONCOUNTY.INFO administrator(s) reserves the right to edit for space. The final decision if your website meets the requirements or not is made totally at our discretion. It may be for other reasons than the above stated. The reason for non-approval will not be made public to the applicant in question. Our decision is final and cannot be overruled according to this agreement.

Does it cost? :

Listings to the GastonCounty.info will be classified as being either non-profit or commercial.

  • Non-profits may include churches, community organizations, high school reunions, individual ministries, etc - but if you claim to be non-profit, we might request proper documentation to verify your non-profit status. Basic listings for verified non-profits will not incur any charges for our services unless other arrangements have been made to provide services beyond a “basic listing.”
  • Commercial listings may include businesses, individuals, etc. that conduct business transaction for financial gain. So, if you cannot make a claim and provide documentation for non-profit staus, you will, by default, be classified as commercial. Commercial listings will be required to pay a listing fee once the 45-day trial period has expired. The listing fee may vary, and this will be negotiated and addressed with the sales & marketing director.
